Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 4, 2026  •  Version: 1.0

This Privacy Policy explains how CupidCompanies ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit cupidcompanies.com or use our products, including CupidCalendar (collectively, the "Service").

1.Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through the Service, including when you:

  • visit our website;
  • join the CupidCalendar waitlist;
  • create an account or use the app (when available);
  • complete assessments, reflections, or guided exercises;
  • connect with a partner or authorize provider sharing; or
  • contact us for support.

2.Information We Collect

A. Information you provide directly

  • email address (when joining our waitlist or creating an account);
  • profile details, name, and relationship preferences;
  • responses to assessments, journals, prompts, and guided exercises;
  • relationship, communication, emotional wellbeing, or intimacy-related information you choose to share; and
  • billing information and support communications.

B. Information collected automatically

  • IP address (stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash — we never log your raw IP);
  • device type, browser, operating system, and app version;
  • usage logs, feature interactions, and session timestamps; and
  • cookies and similar technologies, subject to your choices where required by law.

C. Information from third parties

  • payment processors;
  • authentication providers; and
  • integrations or professionals you choose to connect.

3.Sensitive Information

Because CupidCalendar touches deeply personal relationship topics, some information you choose to share — relating to emotional wellbeing, intimacy, sexual wellness, therapy, or communication — may qualify as sensitive personal information under applicable law.

We process such information only:

  • to provide the features you request;
  • with your explicit consent where required by law;
  • to comply with legal obligations or protect safety; or
  • in aggregated, de-identified form as described below.

Sensitive data features in the app will be governed by a separate Sensitive Data Consent presented at the time you enable them.

4.How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

  • provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • manage accounts and waitlist registrations;
  • personalize your experience, content, and recommendations;
  • deliver courses, check-ins, reminders, and notifications;
  • facilitate partner or provider sharing that you authorize;
  • process payments and subscriptions;
  • detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security issues;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements; and
  • send service-related messages and, where you have consented, marketing communications.

5.Aggregated and De-Identified Data

We may create aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized data derived from personal information for product development, analytics, benchmarking, educational materials, and marketing claims. We will not use your name, direct identifiers, or recognizable personal story in public-facing marketing without your separate express permission.

6.Legal Bases for Processing

Where required by law, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • performance of a contract with you;
  • your consent;
  • compliance with legal obligations;
  • protection of vital interests; and
  • legitimate interests, where not overridden by your rights.

7.Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, security, analytics, and service functionality. Where required by law, we provide consent choices for non-essential tracking and honor your selections.

8.How We Share Information

We may share personal information with:

  • vendors and service providers supporting hosting, security, analytics, payments, and communications;
  • professional advisors such as lawyers, auditors, and insurers;
  • regulators, courts, or law enforcement where required by law or to protect safety;
  • a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or restructuring; and
  • counselors, coaches, or wellness professionals only where you direct, request, or explicitly authorize the disclosure.

We do not sell or share identified personal data for third-party independent marketing purposes.

9.International Data Transfers

We may store and process personal information in countries other than your country of residence. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses — for restricted international transfers.

10.Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Service;
  • maintain business and legal records;
  • resolve disputes and enforce agreements; and
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, and security obligations.

When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or securely de-identify it where feasible.

11.Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including role-based access controls, encryption in transit, hashed identifiers for sensitive data, monitoring, and vendor controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12.Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • access, correct, or delete personal information;
  • withdraw consent;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • obtain a portable copy of your information;
  • opt out of marketing, profiling, or certain data sharing; and
  • appeal a denied privacy request where required by law.

To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@cupidcompanies.com. We may verify your identity before processing your request.

Deleting your account and data

You have the right to delete your account and all associated personal data at any time. There are two ways to do this:

1

In the app. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, relationship data, check-ins, reflections, and any shared content. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

2

By email. Send a deletion request to privacy@cupidcompanies.com from the email address associated with your account. We will process your request and confirm deletion within 30 days.

Note: Some data may be retained for a limited period where required by law or for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Retained data is isolated from active use and deleted as soon as legally permitted.

13.Consent, Safety & Respectful Use

CupidCalendar is designed to support healthy, intentional connection between adults. Using the app does not replace direct communication between partners. A reminder, shared plan, check-in, prior preference, or AI-generated suggestion does not equal consent.

The platform may only be used in respectful, lawful, and non-coercive ways. You may not use it to:

  • pressure, shame, or manipulate another person;
  • monitor or control someone without their knowledge;
  • weaponize shared reflections, mood logs, or insights during conflict;
  • harass, threaten, or retaliate against another user; or
  • misuse private information shared in confidence.

Shared features — including shared calendars, reflections, and relationship tools — should support trust and communication, not surveillance or control. Before enabling shared features, users are encouraged to review visibility settings and discuss openly what will be shared.

CupidCalendar is not a substitute for licensed therapy or counseling, medical advice, legal advice, crisis intervention, or emergency services. If you feel unsafe or threatened, please seek help from local emergency or support services immediately.

For full guidance on consent, safety, and respectful use, visit our Consent & Safety page.

14.Marketing Communications

We send marketing and promotional communications — including email and SMS — only with your prior opt-in consent. You will never receive marketing messages from us unless you have expressly agreed to receive them.

Email

Marketing emails require your affirmative opt-in at the time of sign-up or through a separate consent step. You may opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at privacy@cupidcompanies.com.

SMS / Text Messages

We will only send SMS or text messages to your mobile number if you have explicitly opted in to receive them. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by contacting us at privacy@cupidcompanies.com.

Service-related messages, billing notices, and security alerts are not marketing communications and may be sent when operationally necessary, regardless of marketing preferences.

15.Regional Notices

If you reside in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or another jurisdiction with additional privacy rights, you may have rights or disclosures beyond those described above. We will provide any additional notices, opt-outs, or consent tools required by applicable law.

16.Children

The Service is intended only for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have done so, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

17.Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice by updating the date above and, where appropriate, by email or in-app notification.
